It's been a few weeks since the last update, but we're still running! The most exciting news is that we're less than $200 away from reaching our $3,600 fundraising goal. We have 2 weeks left, and we're feeling optimistic that the final dollars will roll in by the deadline on 12/3. Thanks again to all of you who have made donations. We wish all of you could observe first hand the heart that all of our teammates, mentors, and coaches have for this cause. It's really incredible.
This Saturday, we're scheduled to run the longest distance we'll run before the marathon, 20 miles. To date, our longest distances are 15 for Ben and 18 for Janet. Last Saturday's run made me realize that my feet and knees were starting to ache toward the end, as well as continuing to hurt worse than usual after the run. So I added up the miles that that pair of shoes had taken me, and the total was over 300...woah! And with another 125 miles to go before the marathon's over, it was time to get new shoes. Also surprisingly, I had to get a half size larger than the last pair. Weird!
