Ben and I were able to go run together on Saturday, 9 miles, for a full loop around White Rock Lake. It was the longest either of us has ever run, and we were so glad we got to go together! Thanks to my Mom & Dad for taking care of Marin for us so that we could to that. On our way home, we stopped to drop off our recycling, and upon getting out of the car after sitting for just 10 minutes (and despite vigorous post-run stretching), we were both moaning and groaning pitifully! But we got home and had a nice long rest before heading out again to kick football season off on Saturday afternoon. Monday's 2 miles seemed like a piece of cake!
We had such a great time this whole weekend. While the OU/BYU game result was disappointing (poor Sam!), the experience was really fun at Cowboys Stadium. We owe a big thank you to Kim & Gary for coming over to hang out with Marin that night. Although, we hear they were teaching her certain Texas Tech hand signals...even as she wore her OU outfit. Hmmm...
After all of the excitement Saturday & Sunday, it was great to have the holiday Monday to be together as a family. We also gained some momentum in fundraising over the past week, bringing us to about 35% of our goal. Thanks, everybody! I'd like to think it was due to our poetic stylings (I'll soon post the poem we sent out), but it was probably just a matter of timing!
