Half & Half

Last week, we reached 2 "halfway" milestones. We passed the halfway mark to our fundraising minimum requirement, and we ran half a marathon (well, minus 0.1 mile)!

Marin spent the whole weekend with her Nanny & Papa out in the country, and we got up extra early to run our miles so we could have a long, quiet day on Saturday to relax & recover. Since we started out at about 5:45am, it was our first experience running in total darkness and in relatively chilly temps. We finished 13 miles by 9:00am and went to a great breakfast spot, Pete's, to refuel. Mmmmm...carbs without the guilt!

Interesting facts: I couldn't help my natural tendency to analyze the numbers when I started to think about my cumulative miles since we started training. 138 miles altogether over the course of 10 weeks. Also, I decided I'm going to start charging a toll on the track at the Farmers Branch Community Rec Center because I OWN that track! Since I do 2 of my 4 weekday workouts there every week, I've run about 50 miles on that track. Boo ya!
